Environmental generators
Ingersoll-Rand’s new Environmental generator range features 10–500kVA prime power offering improved long-run and containment capability for demanding applications. The range also addresses a requirement for smaller and quieter products (up to 36% smaller than previous models).
The generators are fully bunded to ensure that all operating fluids stay within the unit. The full-containment design includes a double-skin arrangement that acts as a retention tank to prevent spillage of fluids on to the ground.
Equipped with large-capacity, double-wall fuel tanks, most models have a running time in excess of 24h. Other added-value features include an integral sump pump, battery isolator and automatic safety shutdown. All the generators in the range have compact enclosures occupying the minimum of space and offering improved sound attenuation for reduced noise levels when in operation. The enclosures, which have a powder-coated paint finish to resist corrosion, are designed to minimize water intake.
Premium engine systems from Mitsubishi, John Deere and Volvo are fitted as standard, providing the best value in power efficiency and reliability, and delivering precise frequency control, while meeting TA Luft requirements for low emissions. The auxiliary winding regulation excitation principle (AREP) technology used by the alternators is said to offer the best motor starting in its class with short-circuit capability and voltage regulation under demanding loads.
All the generators feature a single control panel positioned at the front of the machines, which offers a number of operating and safety features. The four smaller models, the G16 to the G44, have an analogue control panel, while the remaining 11 models, ranging from the G66 to the G550, feature the Intellisys digital control panel that offers diagnostic capabilities and the added benefit of a simpler looking panel for routine operation.
