Ennstone Thistle reach for the stars

"IDS Broadband have supplied Ennstone Thistle with a high-speed, two-way Internet satellite system."

"The IDS Broadband satellite dish system has been installed at Ennstone Thistle’s head office, situated on a hillside at their Clatchard Quarry in Newburgh, Fife. With 20 quarries in remote locations throughout Scotland, the new system has resulted in immediate cost savings and increased business efficiency for the company. Ennstone Thistle are also planning to use the IDS service to set up on-line access to their health and safety system for their sister company in the US."

"Scott Paterson, IT systems manager for Ennstone Thistle, comments: ‘For businesses such as ours in rural areas, the options for accelerated Internet access are virtually non-existent. We were considering a fixed-lease line contract, but the IDS Broadband satellite system has given us greater bandwidth capacity at a much cheaper cost. The installation was quick and straightforward and we can now download data and transfer files within a couple of minutes, where as before it could take up to half an hour.’"

"IDS Broadband currently offer two grades of service — IDS Broadband Super and Super Lite — each with a fixed monthly fee. Installation costs and on-going maintenance are included within the fee and if a customer’s requirements change, an upgrade from the Lite to Super service can be implemented for a small cost."
