Double success for Stelex

Stelex Construction Equipment have supplied two of their Hercules heavy-duty trommel screens to two French recycling sites. Buty Services of Lyon and Paris-based Sopac Environment both recycle construction waste but had found that their original lightweight rotary screens were prone to excessive wear and tear when processing such materials.

As a result, the two companies approached Stelex for a more robustly built trommel screen not generally available to the recycling industry in France. For Buty Services, Stelex have designed and manufactured a unit equipped with perforated barrel segments for taking out dirt and fines from the waste material flow.

Made up of welded segments, the heavy-duty barrel can easily process brick/concrete waste and timber fed through the machine. The removed fines are fed via a conveyor for further separation, while all the oversize is discharged to a picking section in the plant’s circuit.

The second Hercules trommel screen for Sopac Environment is of similar specification but incorporates a support structure, complete with chutes and bin walls, to ensure screened material is conveyed away for secondary sorting.
