Diversity and inclusion accolade for Tarmac

Tarmac

Tarmac awarded Clear Assured Bronze Standard for commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace

TARMAC, who directly employ around 7,000 people across a nationwide network of more than 400 sites, have achieved a globally recognized accreditation for their commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace.

The Clear Assured Bronze Standard, from assessment body The Clear Company, is awarded to businesses which can demonstrate that inclusivity and diversity are reflected across all policies and processes. It also marks a move beyond compliance towards a cultural shift.

Louise Houston, head of inclusion and diversity for Tarmac, said: ‘We’re proud to have reached the high standards required for the Bronze Standard. The achievement is an acknowledgment of the efforts of all our employees and leaders, underpinned by an ambition to foster and celebrate a fair and supportive culture that promotes opportunities for all – where everyone feels proud to be themselves.

‘This independent verification shows that we’re heading in the right direction, with the foundations in place for us to build upon.’

Anna Mäkinen, head of Clear Assured, added: ‘Committing to the Clear Assured Standard requires a real focus to work and think differently. Clear Assured is a rigorous standard based on continuous improvement; by reaching Bronze Standard, Tarmac have already demonstrated their ability to instigate change and develop a culture where inclusion and diversity is business as usual.’
