Programme to target new technologies and innovative solutions to solve global water challenges

CRH Ventures, the venture capital unit of building materials solutions giant CRH, have today announced the launch of a new accelerator programme for promising construction technology (ConTech) and ClimateTech start-ups.

The first programme, CRH Ventures Accelerator for Water Solutions, will focus on start-ups involved in developing new technologies and innovative solutions to address global water challenges, including stormwater, wastewater and potable water management.

CRH are one of the leaders in water-management solutions and the new programme is seeking companies with the capability to pilot their technology in CRH operations across North America and Europe.

This first programme will run for three to six months and offer companies the opportunity to collaborate with experts from across CRH’s businesses in the water solutions market and demonstrate success at scale.

Eduardo Gomez, head of CRH Ventures, said: ‘Water is at the core of ClimateTech, playing a major role in transforming our society. The journey towards a sustainable green economy cannot be attained without the ample availability and efficient utilization of water.

CRH are a market leader in water-management solutions, and through the CRH Ventures Accelerator for Water Solutions, we will take a step further by partnering with entrepreneurs in the ConTech and ClimateTech space to create and advance the next generation of solutions needed to address some of the most pressing water problems society faces.’

To participate in the programme, companies must apply through the CRH Ventures website, with evaluations taking place in June 2023 and the pilot phase running from July to October 2023. The companies with the most successful pilots will be reviewed to determine scalability across CRH and potential investment by CRH Ventures.

The Accelerator for Water Solutions is the first of several accelerators CRH Ventures intend to run to drive forward innovation in sustainable construction.
