Demolition Conference 2018

German Demolition Association announces full details of this year’s papers and speakers

THE 24th German Demolition Conference will take place from 2-3 March at Maritim Hotel Berlin. Organized by the German Demolition Association, more than 900 attendees and 115 exhibitors (from 15 different countries) took part in last year’s event – and the hosts are hoping this year’s two-day show will set the bar even higher.

The keynote speaker at Demolition Conference 2018 (Europe’s largest demolition and dismantling industry event) will be former state minister Michael Groscheck and the show feature a further 15 presentations by leading experts on topical demolition issues, along with a parallel exhibition showcasing a wide range of products/services.

The event will cover a variety of themes, from interesting demolition project reports to key law changes and innovative recycling processes.

This year’s presentations include: ‘Extreme demolition in the heart of Munich – a symbiosis of demolition, specialist civil engineering and new construction’; ‘Liability issues for demolition company executives’; and ‘The hazardous substance inventory as an essential basis for professional demolition planning’.

There will also be talks on challenging subjects such as cyber threats and business crime facing demolition firms, low-vibration demolition and why it is so hard to define?, explosive demolition techniques (outlined by the German Demolition Association’s technical committee on blasting technology) and a case study in Austria on mandatory hazardous materials identification and removal plan for all demolition operations to ensure high-quality recycling.

During the conference programme, simultaneous translation into English and French will be provided to cater for international visitors.
