CIWM appoint new director

Lee Marshall to move from LARAC and head policy and external affairs at waste body

THE Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) has announced the appointment of Lee Marshall as their new policy and external affairs director, effective 1 December 2021, 

Mr Marshall joins CIWM from the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC), where he spent seven years as its chief executive officer. He has worked in the waste and recycling sector for 25 years and will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in resource management to his new role.  

 

CIWM chief executive Sarah Poulter said: ‘Lee [Marshall] is hugely respected across the entire resource and waste-management sector, and his appointment will further bolster what is already an outstanding CIWM leadership team.

‘The CIWM is committed to a world beyond waste, and Lee will play a vital role in ensuring we continue to support our members in leading the development of more resource-efficient and circular economies.’

Mr Marshall added: ‘This is an amazing opportunity to join an organization which is firmly positioned at the forefront of the battle against resource scarcity and climate change. I look forward to leading CIWM’s policy and technical capability and helping to harness its creative and innovative thinking to bring about meaningful change.’
