Civil and Marine gain CE mark for slag
Following independent testing by the British Standards Institution (BSI), Civil and Marine has successfully gained a European Commission CE mark for its ground granulated blast furnace slag product.
The mark has been achieved as part of the shift from the old British Standard BS6699 to the new European Standard BS EN15167, and has taken a year of hard work to achieve, says the Hanson-owned company’s national technical and environmental manager Mike Dean.
Civil and Marine is the only domestic producer of GGBS from British iron production and the first supplier in the UK to gain CE marking accreditation for GGBS.
