CEMEX receive third BMV award for sustainability

CEMEX win Sustainability Award

Mexican Stock Exchange recognizes CEMEX’s sustainability for the third consecutive year

FOR the third consecutive year, the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) has recognized CEMEX as the best-qualified company in the area of sustainability from a total of 79 listed companies.

Also, for the seventh consecutive year, the Mexican Stock Exchange selected CEMEX to participate in its Sustainability Index, which recognizes organizations’ performance in the three pillars of sustainability: Corporate Governance, Social Responsibility, and Environment.

CEMEX’s recognition is based on work carried out by the Universidad Anáhuac México Sur, an organization that annually analyzes the information and practices of listed companies to determine the composition of the Sustainability Index.

The award ceremony was held on 1 June in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, at the 9th Issuer Forum of the Mexican Stock Exchange, an event hosted by Jaime Ruiz Sacristán and José Oriol Bosch, chairman and chief executive officer of the Mexican Stock Exchange respectively.

Commenting on the award, Vicente Saisó, CEMEX’s corporate director of sustainability, said: ‘This recognition reaffirms our commitment to achieve excellence in sustainability, as well as to embed high international standards for environmental and social performance and corporate governance across our organization.’
