New electric truckmixers arrive in Mexico as part of company’s Future in Action programme

NEW Cemex electric truckmixers have arrived in Mexico as part of the company’s comprehensive strategy to decarbonize its global fleet. This initiative is a key component of the company’s Future in Action programme, which aims to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

The new electric concrete truckmixers offer full-load capacity and can carry out a full day’s work, showcasing their efficient and scalable design. Cemex have already introduced similar truckmixers in Germany and Dubai and plan to expand into France, Spain, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

Committed to sustainable transportation, the company has also invested in more than 1,000 heavy-duty trucks powered by renewable diesel and natural gas. Cemex say these key transitional technologies will reduce carbon emissions in the short term as heavy-duty electric vehicles become viable on an industrial scale.

Cemex are one of the founding members of the First Movers Coalition (FMC), which brings together business leaders with global footprints to create market demand for zero-carbon solutions in this decade and jump-start the scaling of these emerging technologies. The FMC is working with its members so that approximately 30% of their heavy-duty on-highway transport purchases are zero emissions by 2030.
