Bulk Handling Conference 2011

THE Materials Handling Engineers Association (MHEA) has issued a call for papers for its 2011 Bulk Handling Conference, which will take place from 11–12 May at the Forest Pines Conference Centre, in North Lincolnshire.

To reflect changes in the nature of the industry in recent decades, a strategic structural review has been implemented aimed at creating a new and invigorating conference format aimed at delivering greater value, interest and relevance to MHEA members and guests.

The conference event will encompass keynote and plenary presentations, a gala dinner and after-dinner speaker entertainment. Accompanying the conference will be a related exhibition, integrated into the conference area.

By moving from a specifically focused technical seminar to a more all-embracing industry conference, MHEA aims to broaden the delegate profile and include all matters relating to bulk handling with a separate provision for commercial presentations.

Conference papers are invited on all aspects of materials/bulk handling, including: developments in conveying and material transport; drives and transmissions; loading, unloading, storage and reclaim; crushing screening and washing; control of impact, abrasion and erosion; spillage and dust control; waste and recycling; control, metering and management systems; energy efficiency; operation and maintenance; and regulatory compliance and health and safety matters, among others.

Initial submissions in the form of a synopsis should be forwarded to Peter Webster, MHEA secretary, email: pw@mhea.co.uk, before 31 December 2010.
