Breedon Aggregates score another Highland League competition

Quarry operator continues to sponsor 2013 Highland Football League Cup

BREEDON Aggregates, one of the largest independent quarry firms in the UK, have announced that they will continue to sponsor the Highland League Cup competition for 2013.

The company has a total of 18 quarries, 11 asphalt plants and 22 ready-mixed concrete plants in Scotland, stretching from Ullapool in the north to Kirkcaldy in the south, with almost half of its locations falling within the catchment area of the Scottish Highland Football League.

Elsewhere, Breedon own a significant stake in BEAR Scotland who manage the north-east, north-west and south-east trunk road networks on behalf of Transport Scotland. The aggregates supplier also has a majority stake in ALBA Traffic Management, a leading provider of traffic management solutions throughout Scotland.

Highland League president Finlay Noble said: ‘After a very successful association with Breedon Aggregates last season, we are very pleased to have retained this sponsorship of the Highland League Cup competition. Breedon’s work in the construction industry, and with BEAR Scotland, fits well with the geographical spread of our clubs and we hope to give a warm welcome to their representatives attending the games.’

Alan Mackenzie, chief executive office of Breedon Scotland, commented: ‘We’re thrilled to be associated once again with this wonderful Scottish sporting institution. The Highlands of Scotland are our heartland and we’ve been serving the local authorities, businesses and communities in this area for many years. It’s great to have the opportunity to share our success with the Scottish Highland League for another year.’
