AI in Focus: Breedon’s Tim Copping joins the second episode of CheckProof’s podcast series
FOLLOWING on from the successful launch of 'Breaking Ground – A CheckProof Podcast', the second episode, ‘AI & Tech that transform operations’, will be released on Friday, 26 September, featuring Tim Copping, head of operational technology at Breedon Group.
With decades of experience in operational technology within the construction materials sector, Mr Copping brings unique insight into how technology is transforming the industry. In this episode, he discusses the role of AI in improving staff safety, the importance of sustaining and evolving digital projects with the business, and why retiring outdated solutions should be seen as progress rather than failure.
Sharing his perspective on how data and AI could change operational planning, Mr Copping said: ‘If we have the data there in the beginning, we could be using AI to simulate manufacturing operations or quarrying operations before we actually do them.’
He also reveals which task he would most like to automate, a challenge many in the sector will relate to.
