BossTek launch extended parts warranty

DustBoss mist cannon

Dust-control cannon manufacturer offering new five-year or 5,000h warranty on all direct-drive fan motors

BOSSTEK, formerly Dust Control Technology, have launched a new extended five-year or 5,000h warranty on all direct-drive fan motors in their product range. Having previously set the industry standard with a three-year/3,000h package, the newly upgraded guarantee is said to be the longest replacement parts warranty in the market.

As industrial dust emissions become more heavily regulated, the improved warranty offers customers peace of mind and reflects BossTek’s commitment to superior durability and return on investment from their DustBoss line of atomized mist cannons.

‘When we follow up with past customers, more often than not, instead of replacing their DustBoss, they’re adding to their fleet as they expand,’ said Edwin Peterson, chief executive officer of BossTek. ‘With so many of our oldest units still in the field cranking out wide area dust suppression, extending the warranty was an easy decision. Our product quality hasn’t changed from day one.’

In the past, industries such as demolition, bulk product storage and ports controlled dust by applying surface suppression using water sprayed from hoses, which creates droplets from 200 to 1,000 microns in size. But, over time, operators have discovered that in order to control dust emissions, droplet sizes must roughly match the size of airborne particulates, which hoses cannot accomplish.

Available in four sizes, depending on the needs of the application, a single DustBoss unit can cover up to five football fields with billions of mist droplets (approximately 50–200 microns in diameter).

Using a powerful industrial fan at the back of the cannon, droplets are shot from a misting ring on the front in a cone-shaped pattern, reaching a distance of up to 100m. The huge coverage area is achieved using a vertical adjustment and optional 359° oscillator.

DustBoss units offer one-touch operation, allowing workers to turn them on and walk away. The water pressure emitted from the mist nozzles is safe; the maximum amount of water used is 39 gal/min (average = 17 gal/min) and the fans are guarded against reach-in injury, for safe and cost-effective operation.

The cannons can be mounted on a tower, steel skid or wheeled frame. They can also be purchased as Fusion units that feature an enclosed tank and genset on a roadworthy trailer for applications that lack easy access to water and power or require exceptional portability.

‘The extended warranty demonstrates commitment to our customers,’ said Mr Peterson. ‘When they revisit their dust-control plans in the face of changing regulations, we want them to be confident that they are getting the highest-quality product on the market, with the best return on investment.’
