INMALO announce new managing director
Demolition equipment supplier confirms appointment of Charles Polak as its new md
INMALO, renowned for supplying top-tier hydraulic attachments and versatile dust-control systems to the UK’s waste recycling, construction, and quarrying industries, are entering a new chapter of family leadership.
Founded in 1946 by Lt. Col. Arnost Polak, a veteran of the Czechoslovakian Air Force and 311 Squadron, the company supplied much-needed plant components to support post-war demolition and rebuilding. By the early 1950s, rapid growth led to the acquisition of a Chertsey storage yard, and under Arnost’s guidance, the business adapted quickly to new technology and customer needs.
His son, John Polak, joined in 1975, guiding INMALO through the 1980s as demolition methods evolved and excavators embraced interchangeable hydraulic tools. The tradition continued into a third generation in 2011, when John’s son, Charles, joined the company and broadened the offering with powerful dust-suppression systems.
Now, in 2025, Charles Polak has formally taken over as managing director, with his father John stepping back from day-to-day responsibilities but remaining actively involved in the company and other projects.
Charles Polak commented: ‘Our success has always relied on trust, high-quality equipment, and strong customer support. That approach has helped us build long-term relationships and gain confidence in the market. I look forward to leading the business forward with our excellent team, focusing on introducing innovative equipment to the UK and supporting it with unmatched service.’
INMALO have been the UK’s main dealer for Mantovanibenne (MBI) attachments for over 25 years, supplying Eagle 3 scrap shears, pulverizers, and grapples. Today, the company’s range has grown to include dust-suppression systems, magnets, breakers, and automatic quick couplers – enhancing its position as a trustworthy supplier in various sectors.
