Bobcat expand solutions for winter weather
BOBCAT say their range of solutions for dealing with winter weather continues to grow, thanks to the addition of new tool carriers such as the S100 skid-steer and the T2250 compact telehandler.
By combining the company’s large range of skid-steers, compact tracked loaders and telehandlers with a wide selection of winter attachments, including snow blowers and blades, buckets and sweepers and the super scraper and salt- and sand-spreader products, Bobcat say their machines offer a variety methods for clearing snow and ice on roads, pavements, car parks and other similar areas.
For example, the Bobcat snow blade, available in five widths from 1,219mm to 2,438 mm, is designed to quickly remove light or moderate snow from pavements and driveways. An optional end-wing kit can be used to convert the 2,134mm and 2,438mm models into high-performance snow pushers, suitable for car parks and other larger areas.
Meanwhile, the Bobcat snow V-blade, which is also available in five different widths, can be used in five configurations: as a V-blade, scoop blade, straight blade and 30° left or 30° right angled blade.
Bobcat say their super scraper and mini scraper attachments, which are designed to dislodge packed snow and ice, provide an environmentally friendly alternative to the use of chemicals or salt and leave behind a smooth surface for walking or driving.
The company also offers three snow-blower models with widths varying from 914mm to 2,134 mm. These offer maximum throw distances from 7.6m to 13.7m and have a rotating chute and deflector to point the snow in the direction desired.
Large capacity buckets with widths from 1,371mm to 2,540 mm and capacities from 0.36 cu m to 1.53 cu m are available for loading and handling snow. The buckets have high backs to help with pushing snow and straight sides to penetrate snow piles.
Finally, for the removal of light snowfalls with depths of 100mm or less, the Bobcat angle broom can be used to clear pathways in a single pass, providing quick access for pedestrians, while the Bobcat sweeper attachment can be used sweep and collect fine snow from pathways and driveways in both forward and reverse directions.
