4D Capital Partners LLP acquire Hepworth Clay business
Private equity firm acquires heritage specialist clay business in carve-out from Wavin Ltd
PRIVATE equity firm 4D Capital Partners LLP (4D) have acquired the Hepworth Clay business in a carve-out from Wavin Ltd, the UK subsidiary of Orbia Building & Infrastructure.
Hepworth Clay are the UK’s only manufacturer of vitrified clay pipes and associated fittings used for drainage purposes. Operating from sites at Hazlehead, in Yorkshire, and Forest Works, in the East Midlands, the company has 550,000ft2 of manufacturing space covering more than 100 acres and utilizes material from its own quarries, which hold significant clay reserves of more than 18 million tonnes.
As well as the core range of drainage solutions, Hepworth Clay manufacture a range of terracotta products for the construction and ventilation of domestic flue and chimney systems.
