BHS-Sonthofen open new recycling test facility

BHS-Sonthofen’s recycling testing facility

Extension of company’s headquarters to help meet growing demand for rigorous equipment testing

PLANT engineering specialists BHS-Sonthofen GmbH have expanded their test centre at their factory headquarters in Sonthofen, Germany, in support of the company’s technology shift towards recycling and sustainability.

BHS-Sonthofen can now conduct tests with shredding, sorting and conveyor technology for the waste-recycling sector in newly expanded testing facilities spanning nearly 1,000 square metres. At the company’s Sonthofen headquarters, the entire recycling process –from input material to finished products – can be tested, giving BHS customers the option to analyse every step of the recycling process.

‘As a leading process consultant and mechanical process technology provider, it is our responsibility to develop all-in-one solutions together with our customers that are perfectly adapted to their needs,’ commented Steffen Hinderer, director of process development at BHS-Sonthofen.

‘Our test centre, which opened in summer 2019, has already raised the bar in the areas of mixing, shredding, recycling, and filtering. Thanks to the expansion of the recycling and environment test division, our customers are able to test all their processes in this area even more comprehensibly in our facilities.’

According to BHS-Sonthofen, the expanded test facility will ensure magnets, screening units and separation systems have the right technologies for sorting reprocessed materials, whilst customized plant control panels are thoroughly tested to find out how they can best fulfil customer expectations in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
