Companies work hand in hand to get cutting-edge information and service portal ready for launch

WORKING hand in hand with the MySMT development team, A.W. Jenkinson and Volvo Construction Equipment dealers SMT GB have developed a cutting-edge information and service portal.

In today’s highly digitalized age, having quick and easy access to fleet information and documentation is an essential expectation of anyone responsible for maintaining a machine fleet, say SMT GB.

However, where MySMT adds real value to customers is through the way it makes this information available via a secure, web-based portal that allows customers to monitor and manage their machine fleet, both on the move or from the office.

To ensure that all of the information stored on MySMT is made easily accessible, the platform is divided into the three distinct areas of: Company, Fleet and Parts.

Company provides customers with visibility of all financial transactions with SMT GB, all active customer service agreements and warranty contracts, oil sampling reports, ProCare recommendations and service inspection reports.

Fleet provides customers with access to current fleet details, including location, operating hours, information of fuel consumption, productivity data, CO2 emissions and visibility of repair and maintenance data on all machines within a customer’s fleet.

Parts provides access to the newly launched SMT online parts store, allowing customers to look up and order parts 24h a day, seven days a week, on the basis of technical drawings.

Commenting on the launch of MySMT, SMT commercial solutions manager Jack Kenny said: ‘MySMT couldn’t make fleet management easier or more straightforward. Having all the information relating to your fleet made accessible from any place and at any time really empowers customers to make the best decisions for their fleets, while saving them valuable time.’

Commenting on the sign-up process for MySMT, A.W. Jenkinson administrator Louise Butterworth said: ‘It was really straightforward. The team from SMT showed me how the system works, and all the information I needed was there, ready to go as soon as I’d created my user account.’

Commenting on the usability and usefulness of MySMT, she added: ‘Because all the information is there on one screen, you’re no longer having to search through lots of different websites and pages for the information you need. It’s all now right there in the system.’

Speaking about A.W. Jenkinson’s involvement in the development of MySMT, Mr Kenny said: ‘We are very grateful for the valuable contributions of A.W. Jenkinson. Together, we have made an essential tool for the modern fleet manager as well as adding benefits useful for other back-office functions.’

Explaining the relationship between A.W. Jenkinson and SMT GB, customer support representative Jamie Stevenson added: ‘We are thrilled to work as closely as we do with A.W. Jenkinson. We not only have the privilege of providing them with the industry-leading equipment they need to maximize their operational efficiency but are also pleased to have had the opportunity to boost their productivity through the development of MySMT.’

A.W. Jenkinson were founded in Cumbria during the mid-1960s. Today, the company and its associated businesses handle more than 3 million tonnes of forestry and other timber co-products each year and has expanded into other areas including haulage and recycling.
