Atlas Copco set new standard for energy efficiency in oil-injected compressors

Atlas Copco have introduced their new GA range of oil-injected compressors to offer customers the highest levels of reliability and energy efficiency in air-compressor technology.

Reduced energy consumption and increased service life across the range has been achieved mainly through the company’s patented asymmetric rotor profiles, which greatly reduce volumetric losses. As oil injection, flow and temperature are optimized, the com

Atlas Copco, however, have taken a step further by optimizing all the elements around the core component, as Paulo Pereira, GA product manager, commented: ‘In the development process of the new GA range, we made substantial efforts to reduce all types of

Other design features to further reduce energy consumption include the use of radial fans with VSD regulation, high-efficiency motors and no-loss drains. Atlas Copco have also found that extra energy-saving options, such as an integrated energy-recovery s

For reliability, the robust and compact design of the new compressors ensures continuous operation under the most demanding applications (eg ambient temperatures of up to 55°C).

Meanwhile, air quality is partly provided by a highly efficient oil-removal system, to give minimum residual oil content in the air outlet, and state-of-the-art refrigerant dryers, which are available in both integrated and stand-alone versions.
