3D Laser Mapping appoint new managing director

Jon Chicken appointed as MD as company founder takes on position of executive chairman

3D Laser Mapping have recently appointed Jon Chicken (right of photo) as managing director, with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Nottingham-based supplier of laser-scanning hardware and software, as well as managing the company’s continued worldwide expansion.

Meanwhile, the company’s founder, Dr Graham Hunter (left of photo), has taken on the position of executive chairman and will focus on the management of key suppliers, development of joint ventures as well as research and development to ensure the company’s offerings continue to meet customer expectations and market demands.

‘Due to the ongoing expansion and successes the business has achieved in the past 12 months, including new offices in South Africa and Australia and a number of major product launches, it has become necessary to implement a more formal and defined organizational structure,’ commented Dr Hunter.

‘Jon has demonstrated a clear management style that is well respected both within the company and in the wider market place and I am confident that this will drive us forward in the forthcoming months and years.’

Mr Chicken joined the company in April 2011 as sales director with responsibility for managing growth in sales of laser-scanning hardware, software and systems. He was previously with one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of infrared cameras and imaging systems for R&D, process control and surveillance applications.
