ZF Industrial gearboxes

A range of in-line precision planetary servo gearboxes manufactured by ZF Industrial is now available from Heason Technology Ltd. Aimed at demanding servomotor drive applications, with ratios between 3:1 and 100:1 and output torques from 25 to 300Nm, the low backlash German-manufactured range is fully interchangeable with other major brand servo gearboxes.

Modular design allows for a wide choice of mounting and output shaft configurations, including assembly to many brushed and brushless servomotors, such as the AKM series from Danaher.

ZF Industrial’s PG gearbox range is available in six single-stage sizes for a 10:1 reduction ratio and five dual-stage designs for a 100:1 ratio. The gearboxes use taper roller bearings and an optimized gear tooth form to achieve higher torque combined with low noise and low heat dissipation. The backlash specification can be less than 2 arc min under optimal conditions.

Heason say the PG gearbox has a typical service life of over 20,000h, thanks to its IP65 sealed and lubricated housing.

For less demanding applications, Heason can supply the ZF PGE range, which has a similar sealed housing construction, but utilizes a precision ball-bearing system providing up to 670Nm torque capacity with ratios up to 100:1. The PGE range is suitable for servo and fractional horsepower motors.
