Waste-recycling success in Scandinavia for Rockster

Rockster R1000S impact crusher

New R1000S impact crusher delivers improved recycled aggregates output for Haga R.O.T. Service AB

LOCATED approximately 160km southwest of Stockholm, Haga R.O.T. Service AB have rapidly become of the leading specialist contractors in heavy demolition, decontamination and recycling in Sweden.

The company is also renowned for producing and supplying high-end recycled aggregates, having recently opened a new modern recycling facility in Norsholm, just outside of Norrköping.

In response to the growing demand for aggregate waste and recycling services in the region, Haga R.O.T. have decided to set even higher industry sustainability targets and maximize the reuse of construction and demolition (C&D) waste materials.

It was important for the company to deploy waste-processing equipment that delivers good sustainable practice and a number of environmentally friendly benefits, including reducing the recycling contractor’s carbon footprint and associated fuel costs.

And meeting these requirements is the new Rockster R1000S impact crusher (supplied by authorized dealers Biocare Svenska AB), which features an EU Stage V-compliant Caterpillar C9.3B engine.

‘With Rockster's hydrostatic crusher drive, the diesel engine always stays in the optimal revolutions per minute range,’ said Niklas Johansson, Swedish sales partner at Biocare Svenska. ‘The hydraulic pump only adapts to the crusher's power requirements, which means lower fuel consumption per tonne of crushed final material.’

To optimize recycling and recovery rates, the R1000S mobile crushing plant is equipped with a RVB1700 air blower that removes light non-aggregates (eg plastics, wood, polystyrene etc.) so a higher-quality valuable final product is attained.

Also included in the standard spec of the Rockster crusher is a vertically adjustable magnetic separator, which efficiently removes steel from crushed concrete to ensure a clean final product.

It is expected the R1000S will be mainly used at demolition sites for recycling of construction waste, which is either reused on the jobsite or sold for other projects. The C&D waste is crushed down to 0–80mm or 0–100mm, ensuring protection of natural aggregate reserves and reducing the use of primary aggregates.

Haga R.O.T. Service AB were also won over by Rockster’s full aftermarket care, spare parts and dedicated customer service, including the long history of working with dealers Biocare Svenska.

‘There is a developed trust between Haga and us. They know that they can rely on top-quality service and support as well as our expertise on how to process materials,’ said Mr Johansson. ‘One of the reasons why they chose the Rockster R1000S is because of our ability to provide fast and efficient supply of spare and wear parts.’
