V-Line laser scanners from Riegl

Riegl have recently launched their latest range of laser scanners for 3D mapping through a worldwide distribution network that includes Nottingham-based 3D Laser Mapping.

Using high-speed laser pulses to capture millimetre accurate measurements at ranges of up to 500m, Riegl say the new V-Line range could revolutionize mapping, surveying and monitoring projects.

The V-Line range scanners combine, for the first time, the highest accuracy and reliability of measurement with online full waveform analysis and complete digital processing.

‘The V-Line range offers significantly improved technical performance coupled with Reigl’s trademark usability and field compatibility,’ commented 3D Laser Mapping’s managing director Dr Graham Hunter.

‘Its launch in the UK has already generated significant interest from traditional markets, as well as the environmental monitoring sector.’

With scanning rates up to 100 scans/s and pulse repetition rates up to 200kHz, the Riegl scanners offer multiple, unlimited target capability. The V-Line also includes interfaces for GPS, networking and mobile operation, together with high-precision time stamping.

A range of optional extras is available to further improve the performance of the scanners. These include cableless operation, a camera and additional data storage.
