Upgraded minis from Kubota

Kubota have expanded their range of KX-3-series mini excavators with the introduction of two new improved machines — the 2.6-tonne KX61-3 and the 2.8-tonne KX71-3.

Replacing models in the Dash-2 series, both machines are equipped with a longer dipping arm for greater reach and extra dig depth. They are powered by a fuel-efficient Kubota V1505-E2-BH engine that provides 10h of continuous work on a full tank. The bucket cylinder hoses are routed through the arm, while the boom cylinders are shielded by a thick steel plate for extra protection and safety. Both models are available with a quiet, luxury cab or canopy, both of which meet ROPS/FOPS specification.

They are fitted with Kubota’s intelligent control system that features: warning indicators for engine, fuel, temperature and oil; a service mode that allows accurate troubleshooting; and standard indicators that display current working conditions such as engine rev/min and hour meter etc.

A safety-lock system prevents unexpected machine movement, as the safety lever must be raised to lock out the travel levers and pilot controls before the engine will start. For easier operation independent pedals now control the boom-swing pedal and auxiliary hydraulic operations.

Both models offer two-speed travel. The KX61-3 has a minimum travelling speed of 2.8km/h and a maximum of 4.4km/h. For the KX71-3, the respective speeds are 2.7km/h and 4.6km/h. The two-speed travel switch is now a finger-touch button and has been moved to the dozer lever, providing greater comfort with increased legroom.
