Unusual application for Komplet crusher

A Komplet stationary crusher supplied by Colchester-based UK importer Cautrac has recently been purchased by a Deeside-based company for crushing rejected washing machine concrete counterweights.

Pasell UK, who have their headquarters in Italy, are Europe’s leading supplier of  washing machine counterweights and currently cast up to 2.5 million items every year, of which approximately 1% are rejected for quality-control reasons.

Rather than paying to have the rejected parts removed from site for disposal, Pasell decided to set up their own compact recycling plant featuring a static version of Komplet’s Lem 48-25 model as a key component.

Powered by a 7.5kW electric motor, the machine features a 480mm x 250mm jaw crusher capable of providing an output of up to 15m3/h at sizes ranging from 10mm to 80mm. Unlike some of its competitors, the crusher also has a variable-speed conveyor belt feed system to minimize plugging of the inlet chute.

Pasell now stockpile reject counterweights during the working week and run the crusher for a few hours every Friday to produce a useful product that is either sold as crushed hardcore or re-used in the counterweight production process.
