Two new appointments at QuarryDesign

Paul Brewer and David Hopkins join geological/geotechnical consultancy as new Associates

QUARRYDesign have announced the addition of two highly respected and experienced extractive industry geologists to the geological and geotechnical consultancy team.

Paul Brewer, of Paul Brewer Geological Services Ltd (PBGSL) and former geological manager at Tarmac, and David Hopkins, former director of geological services at Aggregate Industries, have both joined QuarryDesign as Associates.

 

Mr Brewer joined Tarmac in 1973 as an assistant geologist and progressed to geological manager before leaving the company in 2004 to set up his own consultancy, PBGSL.

He has worked throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East, and his expertise ranges from undertaking complex quarry designs, corporate acquisition studies, due diligence, divestment programmes, establishing joint-venture operations, and reviewing and maintaining company reserves and resources data in compliance with international reporting codes.

Mr Hopkins joined Tarmac in 1979 as a geologist before moving Bardon Aggregates in 1990, where he ultimately became director of geological services for Aggregate Industries Ltd.

Mr Hopkins, who has worked throughout the UK, US, Europe, Africa, South America and Canada, specializes in due diligence acquisitions, quarry design optimization and compilation of company reserves and resources data to international reporting codes.
