Tudor Griffiths acquire concrete plants in Wales

Company acquires four ready-mixed concrete plants in Mid- and North Wales from CEMEX UK

SHROPSHIRE-based concrete and aggregates company Tudor Griffiths Ltd have acquired  four established ready-mixed concrete plants in Mid- and North Wales from CEMEX UK for an undisclosed sum.

The plants are located in Aberystwyth, Bangor, Newtown and Wrexham. All existing operations, assets and staff at each of the four plants have been transferred to the new owners.

Expressing his delight about the acquisition, Tudor Griffiths (pictured), managing director of the Tudor Griffiths Group, said: ‘We are very enthusiastic about the prospects for these four plants and the benefits they will bring to our Group’s portfolio. The purchase greatly enhances our existing ready-mixed concrete operations within the area.’

The addition of the four batching plants to Tudor Griffiths Group’s existing network of eight ready-mixed concrete outlets means that virtually any location within the whole of North Wales, Mid-Wales, Cheshire and north Shropshire will be within 20 miles of a Tudor Griffiths concrete plant.

‘The new focus that has been created by the addition of the four plants and the operational support from the expanded network will bring significant benefits to the Group’s existing and potential customers,’ added Mr Griffiths. ‘The newly expanded network will greatly enhance our customer service.’
