Terex Washing Systems offer dual-power option

TWS dual-power control system now available on all Terex M-Range mobile washing plants

TEREX Washing Systems (TWS) have released a dual-power control system that is available on all versions of the Terex M-Range washing plants.

Sean Loughran, TWS product line director, commented: ‘For the past few years there has been an increasing focus on energy efficiency and alternative/improved methods of running mobile machinery.

‘Traditionally, diesel-hydraulic drive systems have been used for both machine movement and operation, resulting in significant fuel costs. We decided it was time to offer our customers a better alternative.’

All-electric or electric-hydraulic systems are obvious alternatives to a diesel-hydraulic system. However, according TWS, it is fundamental to the success of mobile equipment to be able to easily move the machines around sites or from one site to another, under their own power source.

Therefore, the Terex dual-power system consists of both diesel-hydraulic and electric-hydraulic power drives, allowing the customer to start, transport and operate the machine using a standard diesel engine.

Once the machine is in position, if a suitable electrical power source is available, the washing plant can be plugged in and will operate utilizing the electric-hydraulic power drive, resulting in, significantly, reduced running costs. When the plant needs to be moved, the operator can simply unplug, start the engine and move it to the desired location.

Fergal McPhillips, TWS sales manager, commented: ‘As we continue to strive to meet and exceed customer requirements, the dual-power option provides a more cost-effective and efficient operation, which is of particular importance in the current economic climate.’
