Terex Finlay J-1175 steps up to the mark

When Wembley-based McArdle Group were looking to add a mobile crushing facility to their existing screening operation for the processing of construction and demolition (C&D) waste, they opted for a Terex Finlay J-1175 jaw crusher – a machine they had seen in operation at Hillhead 2005.

Having used Finlay mobile screening equipment since 1997, McArdle were confident that the new jaw crusher would meet their needs, as was Leon Sheehy of Finlay South East Ltd, who supplied the machine. He said: ‘We have had a long relationship with the McArdle Group and knew that the J-1175, with its compact size, ease of transport, and quick set-up times, was ideal for their C&D operation.’

Launched at Hillhead in June 2005, the J-1175 offers strength, durability and a high level of on-site mobility. The machine is fitted with a 1,070mm x 760mm (42in x 30in) crusher chamber, heavy-duty undercarriage and heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder with automatic control to regulate the feed into the crusher. Hydrostatic drive and reverse crushing action to assist in clearing blockages are two other major features of the unit.

Commenting on their recent purchase, John Thompson, joint managing director of McArdle Group, said: ‘We are extremely happy with the J-1175. It has proved to be a very capable and robust machine, reaching up to 150 tonnes/h on standard C&D waste material. On straight return on investment coupled with the after-sales service provided by Terex Finlay, the J-1175 has been a very worthwhile investment.’

Last year the Finlay crushing range was further bolstered with the launch of the I-1312 impact crusher equipped with a 1,100mm x 1,240mm opening and capable of processing up to 400 tonnes/h of limestone at a 4in setting.
