Terex ADTs head down under

A brand new Generation 7 TA27 articulated dumptruck has recently been delivered to earthmoving contractors JE & J Robinson Pty Ltd, based in Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia. The 27.5-tonne Terex ADT, the first of its kind to be delivered to Australia since the Generation 7 range was launched in 2003, is the latest addition to the company’s existing fleet, which includes over 15 Terex machines.

Motivated by their positive experience with Terex trucks in the past, JE & J Robinson have purchased five other Terex units over the past 18 months. Jim Robinson, company director, commented that both the availability and the performance of the TA27 in particular were outstanding. ‘Its superior horsepower, impressive load capacity and spacious cab have not only contributed to the reduction of haul cycles, but they have also provided added comfort and safety for the drivers,’ he said.

All of the trucks, some of which date back to 1990, have been working on a land-reclamation project at an old coal mine, with the useable coal salvaged during this operation being hauled back to nearby stock facilities.

Meanwhile, Egans Plant Hire Pty Ltd, another leading Australian plant-hire contractor with operations in the states of Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania, have recently taken delivery of a 36.5-tonne Terex TA40 articulated dumptruck to supplement their existing fleet of earthmoving equipment.

After comparing the technical specifications and performance of Terex trucks with competitive models, Egans’ senior management declared that they had no hesitation in choosing Terex dumptrucks for their earthmoving and plant-hire projects.

Terex sales and customer support services in Australia are co-ordinated by the company’s established distributor, BT Equipment Pty Ltd. They have offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth to provide fast and responsive assistance at a national level.

Tom Hovatta, BT Equipment’s national product manager, commented that JE & J Robinson and Egans Plant Hire had been extremely satisfied with the level of customer service and the outstanding quality of Terex products during the past decades, and that this had played a crucial role in their repeat purchases.

‘Terex and BT Equipment work closely together to fulfil customer requirements in the most responsive way, not only by providing the greatest range of top-quality heavy construction and mining equipment to purchase or rent, but also by responding quickly and efficiently to all servicing, maintenance and repair needs,’ he said.
