TEK Seating put driver comfort and safety first

Primo XM seat from Grammer

Company showing comprehensive range of high-performance seats from leading manufacturers

TEK Seating say anyone looking for top-quality seats for all types of construction vehicles, including forklifts and dumpers, should head to their stand at Hillhead 2022. As the largest independent vehicle seating distributor for the OEM and aftermarket in the UK, the company is showing a comprehensive range of high-performance seats from leading manufacturers, including KAB, Grammer, Isringhausen, United Seats, and Milsco.

On show will be seats from the high-spec KAB 600 series featuring high- and medium-back air suspension. The KAB 86/K4C is an air-suspension seat with 12V or 24V compressor or manual controls. Another robustly constructed seat is the KAB 525P air and mechanical suspension seat with pods and back angle, height, tilt, and driver weight adjustments. KAB also make the economical 211 and 214 seats.

Other quality seats on display will include the Primo, Actimo, and Maximo ranges from Grammer. These high-performance seats help protect drivers from the rigours and vibrations of daily use.

The Primo XM is the first seat for fork-lift trucks and construction vehicles with a low-profile suspension and available with optional pneumatic or mechanical suspension, and quick weight adjustment. The low-profile Primo XM is also equipped with lumbar support. Of particular interest is the Actimo Evolution P premium comfort seat with pods featuring low-frequency air suspension, an automatic positioning system, adjustable shock absorber, electronic weight adjustment, and pneumatic lumbar support. Also from Grammer is the MSG20 – a compact seat for small vehicles with rapid weight adjustment to facilitate healthy sitting.

From Isringhausen (ISRI) will be the versatile 6000/577 SK mechanical suspension seat and the 6500/577 24-volt air seat. Both feature front operating controls, armrests, horizontal adjustments, and seat contact switches.

For drivers where comfort and style are essential, the high-spec NTS2 seat from ISRI is a good option. Pre-finished for different types of trucks, the NTS2 includes variable height adjustment with memory, tilt, and seat fore/aft adjustment, and an integrated three-point safety belt – and to ensure the backrest fits the body’s contours, it also features a pneumatic system.

ISRI’s JCB-spec 60000/575 mechanical seat comes on a pedestal turntable with armrests and seatbelt, and includes a backrest reclining mechanism, seat height and slope adjustment, suspension dust cover, and front-operated double-locking slides.

Also ideal for construction/plant vehicles, from United Seats will be the C8 US LGV120 Pro air-suspension seat with a high, adjustable back and fabric trim. The LGV 90 – C2 features air suspension with an integrated compressor, heavy-duty PVC, 12V or 24V compressor, and backrest angle adjustment.

TEK Seating are also showing a range of all-purpose seats from Milsco with various-height backrests, including the CE200 low-profile mechanical suspension seat, which is ideal for small construction vehicles such as skid-steer loaders, dumpers, and rough-terrain forklifts. Designed for comfort and support, the CE200 seat incorporates an ergonomic two-piece, foam-in-place cushion that is both durable and weather resistant.

TEK Seating also supply the popular, adjustable TEK 12 seat with slide rails and switch, which is easy to fit as no drilling is required.

TEK Group chief executive officer Paul Fleming commented: ‘Construction operators work in extreme environments and often suffer with back issues from the vibrations. Protection is therefore crucial, so it’s important that all drivers understand how their seat works and that it’s correctly fitted for their weight and body shape. There are no pitfalls to investing in a good, comfortable, safe seat.’
