Sykes Pumps extend hydraulic submersible range

Hydraset 80 pump

Compact and lightweight 3in Hydraset 80 pump unit joins existing 4in and 6in models

PUMP hire specialists Sykes Pumps have further enhanced their range of hydraulic submersible pumping solutions with the launch of the 3in Hydraset 80 pump.

Adding to the 4in and 6in hydraulic submersibles already available, the Hydraset 80 offers customers increased choice and flexibility and is available from all 25 depots across the company’s UK network.

The pump consists of a power pack, pump end and a set of hydraulic hoses. The 3in Hydraset can be quickly installed and is said to be particularly suitable for suction depths too great for standard surface-mounted pumps to achieve.

Compact, lightweight and robust, the 3in Hydraset 80 also provides an effective option for remote sites and any location where electricity is not available. The 3in pump end allows easy access into small chambers and manholes while offering excellent performance with a maximum flow rate of 31 litres/s, a maximum head of 31m and a solids handling capacity of 22mm.

The pumps are also economical to run and are suitable for 24/7 requirements, with an integrated fuel tank capacity of 145 litres. Fuel consumption is low at just five litres/h at 1,500 rev/min, allowing constant operation without refuelling for up to 29h.

Chris Graham, sales director at Sykes Pumps, explained: ‘The 3in Hydraset 80 is the ideal solution for a wide range of environments, enabling customers to work in and around confined access without compromising on performance.

‘We have introduced the new pump as a direct response to customer demand for a compact hydraulic submersible that can offer a flexible, low-cost and high-efficiency solution for rapid deployment on site, and we’re confident the 3in model will become as popular as the larger alternatives within the range.’

Fitted with a silenced diesel engine for quiet, unobtrusive operation, the Hydraset 80 pump end is driven by environmentally friendly biodegradable oil, while the fuel efficient engine combines cost-efficiency with lower emission eco performance.

Quick-release hydraulic couplings allow leak-proof operation, whilst automatic shutdown enhances safety and prevents blockages and overloading, and lightweight construction makes the new pump easy to manoeuvre on all surfaces.

‘The 3in Hydraset 80 is available with a wide range of accessories and Sykes Pumps’ full technical support, making it the go-to compact hydraulic solution for any environment, no matter how challenging,’ added Mr Graham.

‘It’s all part of our commitment to ensuring customers can rely on us to offer them flexibility, cost-effectiveness and performance for any requirement in any location.’
