Special Mogensen conveyor for Lafarge in Russia

Mogensen vibratory conveyor

Grantham-based firm supplies special vibratory conveyor to carry high-temperature cement clinker

MOGENSEN Raw Materials Handling have supplied and commissioned a specially designed vibratory conveyor to the Lafarge cement plant at Voskresensk in the Moscow area.

The machine was ordered from Mogensen on the recommendation of the Lafarge Technical Centre in Vienna, and replaces a locally made conveyor which had been suffering from extensive cracking problems.

The new conveyor is moving 72 tonnes/h of cement clinker at 300ºC, with surges up to 350ºC, a distance of 6.37m from the outlet of a wet kiln installation to a bucket conveyor system which transports the clinker to a stockpile area where it awaits conversion into useable cement.

The Mogensen conveyor is lined with stainless steel to guard against abrasion, and is specially constructed to protect the vibrators from heat damage.

The 800mm wide conveyor, Type TR1 800/6370 L-426, is driven by two Invicta rotary electric vibrators, Type BLz 45 – 42/6 (mechanical output 41,200N), which provide a linear mode of vibration.

The new installation also possesses some reserve capacity as it is rated at 92 tonnes/h when conveying material as dense as cement clinker.
