South Coast Shipping relaunched as RMC Marine

"SOUTH Coast Shipping, part of the RMC Group, have been renamed RMC Marine Ltd in a move to bring the firm into line with their parent company’s corporate identity."

"Based in Southampton, RMC Marine operate a fleet of seven vessels in waters around the UK and off the coast of continental Europe, from the Bay of Biscay the Baltic Sea. The company was founded over 50 years ago and is headed by director and general manager John Wilkinson, who previously ran RMC’s aggregates and ready-mixed concrete operations in India."

"Commenting on the name change, he said: ‘In recent years the focus of the business has expanded to include the whole of the UK and north coast of Europe. The new name reflects the Group’s principal marine business and will allow it to identify more closely with its customer base in Britain and mainland Europe.’"

"With marine aggregates currently making up over one-fifth of the UK’s demand for sand and gravel , RMC Aggregates’ commercial manager, Ian Southcott, added: ‘Marine dredging has become an increasingly important source of aggregates in the UK and this relaunch of RMC Marine will help to further establish the company as one of the major players in the marine aggregates industry.’"
