Sortera invest over £1 million in JCB equipment
Major fleet expansion enhances waste-recycling firm’s operations across Greater London
SORTERA, one of London’s leading waste-management operators, have announced a substantial fleet investment surpassing £1 million in new JCB mobile plant machinery. This strategic fleet upgrade signifies a pivotal milestone in the business’s efforts to provide faster, more efficient, and more reliable services across its growing network.
The initial investment encompasses a diverse array of new JCB machines, including several waste handlers and excavators such as the JS20MH, 86C-2, and 220X models. These have been strategically positioned across five of Sortera’s operational depots in Wembley, Harlow, Uxbridge, Tottenham, and Rochford to enhance on-site efficiency, minimise downtime, and improve material handling capabilities across a wide range of projects.
‘This investment is about strengthening our core operations with equipment we know we can trust,’ said Ian Wilkinson, operations director for Sortera. ‘JCB’s machinery is a proven asset in our sector, and this upgrade ensures we’re ready to meet growing client demand and continue to lead in construction waste solutions.’
James Richardson, managing director of Greenshields JCB, added: ‘Sortera approached us with a clear intention to achieve operational excellence across all its locations, to a defined and optimised cost model. This involved jointly assessing the detailed requirements at each site and benchmarking best practices within their existing operations to identify suitable machinery, finance and after-sales solutions.
‘We look forward to supporting Sortera in achieving their growth objectives and are grateful for the selection of GJCB as their supplier of choice and the investments that they are making in the JCB product.’
Looking ahead, Sortera have confirmed plans to continue expanding their fleet with more investment in a wider variety of JCB machinery throughout the year, as part of the company’s long-term commitment to infrastructure growth and operational excellence.
The order reflects Sortera’s ongoing commitment to investing in best-in-class technology and infrastructure to facilitate scalable growth. As the company intensifies its focus on sustainable construction waste management, this fleet expansion further bolsters its operational strength.
