Steve Lashley

Appointment to operations manager role in preparation for period of growth and development

STEVE Lashley of Skelair, the ground engineering and rock drilling specialists, has been promoted to drilling and blasting operations manager after spending 18 months as operations supervisor for the company’s Contract Drilling & Blasting division.

In his new role with the company, Mr Lashley will have full operational responsibility for all drilling and blasting requirements.

He joined Skelair in 2012 from BAM Ritchies, where he gained more than 20 years’ experience across the full range of quarry operations, and since then has received the Rexnord Award for the best result in the Quarry Blasting part of the Diploma in Quarry Technology.

Commenting on Mr Lashley’s promotion, John Mayo, managing director of Skelair, said: ‘Steve has been an asset to the company over the last year and a half. He has used his industry-leading experience and knowledge to make a positive impact both commercially and operationally, and his promotion is in recognition of this hard work.

‘In his new role, Steve will now prepare his division for a period of growth and development, in line with the wider company’s strategic plans.’

Mr Lashley added: ‘When I joined Skelair, it was already a well established and credible provider of drilling and blasting services. I’ve enjoyed working with the team and building strong client relationships to help build on this success. My new position will enable me to be even more involved in shaping the future of the company, and it’s a challenge I’m looking forward to taking on.’
