Company awarded silver medal in 2023 EcoVadis Sustainability Rating assessment

SIBELCO have received a silver medal in the 2023 EcoVadis Sustainability Rating assessment, which is considered an industry standard and is increasingly being demanded by Sibelco's customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

EcoVadis provide a custom-made questionnaire for companies based on their industry, country, and size, to measure their sustainability performance. The assessment covers four key pillars: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

Sibelco underwent a group assessment covering all their subsidiaries globally. For each answer provided, Sibelco had to provide documents as proof, which were assessed by an independent auditor of EcoVadis.

‘We are glad to report that Sibelco scored 60/100, placing us in the top 13% of companies rated by EcoVadis in the industry of ‘Quarrying of stone, sand, and clay,’ said Cathy Blervacq, Sibelco’s vice-president of sustainability. ‘A sustainable business model is key to ensuring long-term success, and this achievement demonstrates our commitment to responsible business practices.’

She added: ‘The EcoVadis assessment is updated annually, so we will continue to work towards improving our sustainability practices. We are committed to making Sibelco a leading sustainable company in our industry.’
