Savills rural relay visits Broom Quarry

Savills visit Broom Quarry

Lafarge Tarmac welcome Countryside Learning fund-raisers on Land’s End to John O’Groats relay

FOR the last few weeks, staff from real estate service providers Savills have been taking part in a sponsored relay from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise money for the charity Countryside Learning.

Along the way, the participants from Savills rural teams have been passing through a number of country estates as well as visiting schools and meeting rural businesses.

Now in the east of the country, on Tuesday 18 June Savills’ Minerals team called into Lafarge Tarmac’s Broom Quarry, near Biggleswade, to collect a generous donation from senior estates manager Simon Treacy.

Mr Treacy said: ‘It was terrific to see the Savills Minerals team arrive on site. Lafarge Tarmac are proud to be associated with this great challenge and we wish them well in completing the route.’

Ultimately, staff from Savills in Scotland will aim to complete the mission at John O’Groats on Monday 15 July.

Countryside Learning aims to educate and inspire children about the countryside, expanding access for youngsters from some of the most disadvantaged sectors of society in both urban and rural communities.
