Rugby to become CEMEX UK’s new HQ

Company relocating its headquarters from Thorpe in Surrey to Rugby in Warwickshire

CEMEX UK are moving their headquarters from Thorpe, in Surrey, to their offices in Rugby, Warwickshire, to create a new HQ with effect from 1 July 2018.

The company has had close links with Rugby for nearly 150 years and today operates one of the world’s most modern cement plants in the town.

The new headquarters were the former global head offices of the Rugby Group plc until 2000, and today the legacy of that company is continued with the brand Rugby Cement, one of most well-known brands in the industry.

To date the Rugby offices have provided a regional centre for CEMEX, but from 1 July the senior leadership team and all back-office functions, such as taxation, communications and human resources, will be based there, working alongside business areas such as the National Customer Service Centre, marketing and logistics.

‘Rugby lies geographically at the centre of our UK business and with changing patterns of working, such as increased working from home and from operational sites, it makes good business sense to consolidate our offices,’ explained CEMEX UK country president Michel Andre (pictured).

‘Rugby and the Rugby brand are at the heart of our business, and the creation of the new headquarters will ensure greater efficiency and communication.’
