Alien Concrete & Transport take delivery of new 32-tonne Renault C430 Tridem 8x4 truck

GREATER Manchester-based Alien Concrete & Transport have become the UK’s first recipient of a 32-tonne Renault Range C430 Tridem 8x4 truck complete with a 9 cubic metre Putzmeister concrete mixer body, and day and night cab. The new addition joins the concrete supplier’s mixed fleet of six- and eight-wheelers, including a standard 32-tonne Range C430 8x4 unit.

Delivering to major construction sites across the country, the Range C Tridem’s configuration, which includes a lifting and steering rear axle, improves handling in tight access locations. The Renault truck is suitable for working on and off-road, with a tighter turning circle than conventional eight-wheelers, saving valuable time when manoeuvring.

Keith Wiles, managing director of Alien Concrete & Transport, said: ‘We need good versatility on site and in tight spaces our standard eight-wheelers can struggle, but the Range C Tridem allows us to run a larger-capacity drum with all the manoeuvrability of a 6x4 to places not normally accessible with an eight-wheeler.’

Reliability was key to Alien Concrete & Transport’s vehicle purchase decision and the robust and dependable performance of the company’s first Renault Range C truck sealed the deal.

Mr Wiles continued: ‘If a truck is off the road for any reason, it’s a cost to me. Our first Range C hasn’t let us down since we purchased it a year ago and that was a major factor in selecting the new Range C Tridem. The truck will be looked after on a five-year Renault Trucks repair and maintenance package by local dealers Thompsons Commercials, with whom we have a very good relationship, having serviced the Range C.’
