QNJAC moves forward with new brand identity

QNJAC logo

New logo part of effort to make QNJAC health and safety guidance more accessible to everyone

FOR many years the Quarries National Joint Advisory Committee (QNJAC) has provided essential health and safety guidance to the industry, but this valuable work has not always been as easy to find and/or access as it should be.

Now, as part of an effort to make QNJAC guidance more accessible to everyone, an instantly recognisable logo has been produced to promote and inform people of its importance and presence in the sector.

It is intended that this logo will, in future, appear on all QNJAC-approved guidance in its various forms, including websites, presentations and e-communications.

QNJAC itself is made up of representatives at all levels of the quarrying and extractives industry, including the Health and Safety Executive, all of the major trade associations, trade unions, professional membership bodies and industry training/educational organizations.

Within QNJAC there are nine working groups – Geotechnical, Occupational Health, Plant and Equipment, Contractors, Drilling and Blasting, Road Haulage, Workforce Involvement, Communications, and Training and Education – each producing guidance for all those involved in the industry, no matter what job they do.

All of this guidance will be brought together via the Communications working group and delivered through Institute of Quarrying (IQ) technical evenings, local seminars and conferences.

Wherever the QNJAC logo appears, those in the industry can be confident of the quality of the help and guidance it represents. It will be easy to understand, relevant and accredited through the Institute of Quarrying as part of its Structured CPD roll-out.

HSE Inspector Roy Bush said: ‘I would highly recommend that wherever you see this logo, you take a few minutes to have a look at what’s on offer and use it to get the message out to everyone who needs to know about health and safety, and help make our sites safer for everyone.’
