Latest crusher range iteration specially engineered to deliver lowest-cost-per-ton aggregates production

QUARRY Manufacturing & Supplies (QMS) have introduced the latest generation of their JB Series jaw crushers, engineered to deliver what the company believes is the lowest-cost-per-ton primary crushing available today. Developed in close collaboration with customers, the redesigned JB Series combines robust build quality, high performance, and low operating costs.

Each crusher component is fully manufactured in-house at QMS’s UK facilities using high-quality cast steel components and premium spherical roller bearings to ensure reliability in the toughest applications.

The modular, non-welded frame design provides exceptional strength and durability, while intelligent features such as hydraulic wedge setting adjustment enhance safety, flexibility and productivity.

Providing strength and helping to ensure productivity, the high-quality cast steel jaw stock is propelled by two cast iron flywheels. A large eccentric shaft forging and four spherical roller bearings deliver maximum reliability even under the harshest crushing conditions. Grease-lubricated bearings are kept free from contamination by well-designed labyrinth seals.

According to QMS, a single-piece frame bearing housing ensures a flawless fit to the crusher frame. This prevents unnecessary loads on the frame bearings that are common with two-piece frame bearing housings.

As material reduction is essential across mining, quarrying, recycling, and construction – each with its own specific demands – the JB Series has been designed with built-in flexibility to maximise efficiency and output.

An integrated motor base (mounted in the main frame) reduces maintenance requirements and extends V-belt life. The crushers also feature a robust hydraulic wedge setting adjustment system, offering faster and safer operation than traditional shim systems.

Settings can be changed quickly without the need to handle heavy shims, while the system also enables rapid cavity clearing in the event of a stall. This ensures continuous, adaptable production with minimal downtime.

‘The QMS JB Series of jaw crushers has provided customers throughout the world with a state-of-the-art primary jaw crushing solution. However, even the best can be improved,’ said Jonathan Beck, managing director of QMS. ‘Our redesign focuses on greater productivity, efficiency and reliability – delivering more tonnes per hour with lower energy use, reduced maintenance, and the lowest cost per ton production.’

Available as base units or part of modular plants, the latest iteration of the company’s JB Series offers jaw sizes from 930mm x 580mm to 1400mm x 1200mm, producing up to 1,500 tonnes/h.
