Powerscreen equipment for Kanmantoo

Australian distributor Lincom supplies Powerscreen equipment and service to Kanmantoo Bluestone

ESTABLISHED in 1977, Kanmantoo Bluestone have been producing and distributing authentic bluestone building products across Australia for more than 30 years. The stone is sorted, picked, split, sized and stacked by hand. The company also cuts dimension bluestone and veneers.

Around four years ago, company founder Bernard Clifford decided to expand the business to include the supply of crushed aggregates, railway ballast, road bases and rubbles. After initially hiring in contractors and equipment to produce these materials, Mr Clifford subsequently decided it would be more cost-effective to purchase his own equipment.

Having looked at numerous crushing plants around Australia, he was particularly impressed with the Powerscreen crushing and screening equipment range distributed by the Lincom Group.

Owing to the nature of the bluestone rock and the way that it fractures, the first part of the new plant comprises a Trakpactor 1412 impact crusher impact crusher which feeds on to a Chieftain 2100X triple-deck screener. Railway ballast is stockpiled to one side of the screener with any oversize being recirculated back to the crusher. Material from the bottom deck is conveyed to a VSI unit for shaping, before being fed to another Chieftain 2100X for the production of aggregates.

Subsequently, a Maxtrak 1000 cone crusher has been added to help increase production rates, and a Warrior 1400 heavy-duty twin-deck screening plant has also been purchased to scalp out material or screen rubble when required.

Jason Clifford, who operates the crushing and screening plant, said: ‘Lincom’s backup and support is of a high standard. Their knowledge of the Powerscreen machines and their internal working parts is outstanding, and their after-sales support is impressive’

Lincom have been an official Powerscreen distributor for Australia and Papua New Guinea for more than 20 years and have recently expanded their territory to include New Zealand.
