Powercrusher line makes Atlas Copco a more complete partner

Atlas Copco Powercrusher

Last year saw Atlas Copco strengthen their offering in the quarrying, construction and recycling sectors with the acquisition of Austrian firm Hartl Anlagenbau GmbH, manufacturers of the Powercrusher range of mobile crushing and screening machines.

Atlas Copco Powercrusher, part of Atlas Copco’s Surface Drilling Equipment division, now offer a broad range of track-mounted mobile units comprising jaw, impact and cone crushers with capacities ranging from 200–500 tonnes/h, and screeners with capacities up to 600 tonnes/h.

Visitors to the CONEXPO-CONN/AGG exhibition in Las Vegas earlier this year were among the first to see the company’s new Powercrusher line-up, which comprises: four jaw crushers with inlet openings ranging from 1,000mm x 550mm up to 1,300mm x 800mm; six impact crushers with inlet openings ranging from 1,000mm x 600mm up to 1,560mm x 1,020mm; a cone crusher with a maximum inlet opening diameter of 1,300mm; and five screeners with screen sizes ranging from 3.65m x 1.5m up to 6.34m x 1.5m

The four jaw crusher units incorporate a special ‘Quattro’ movement, which is made possible by an up-thrust toggle plate position to create a figure-eight motion in the moving jaw, thereby increasing the feed capacity and producing a post-crush action at the crusher outlet.

The six impact crusher models all use optimized geometry in the crusher box with hydraulically adjustable swing beams. This is said to result in a minimal percentage of oversized material, together with high reduction ratios and throughputs.

Atlas Copco Powercrusher’s PC 1000 cone crusher features cones that are designed to accept an ‘all-in’ infeed – this increases particle-on-particle crushing which, in turn, improves product shape, decreases wear and eliminates the need for pre-screening.

Bo-Goran Johansson, vice-president of marketing for Atlas Copco’s Surface Drilling equipment division, said: ‘The current generation of Powercrushers combines a straightforward design and user-friendliness with long-term reliable performance.’

Andreas Malmberg, president of Atlas Copco’s Surface Drilling Equipment division, added: ‘The Powercrusher product line complements our current product offering and makes us an even more complete partner. Our customers will benefit from having the same supplier for drill rigs, breakers, road construction equipment as well as mobile crushers and screeners.’
