Power generator hire firm to provide carbon neutral energy

PROMPTED by their customers’ environmental concerns, Mather and Stuart Generators are to make all the their temporary generator sets environmental friendly by using carbon-offset diesel supplied by Crown Oil UK.

‘With a hire fleet of over 800 generator sets, we believe that this is a significant move for Mather and Stuart and a big win for the environment,’ explained director Mark Stuart. ‘We have been looking for ways to respond to customer concerns about the environmental impact of our temporary generators and using the carbon-offset diesel product from Crown Oil UK provided a straightforward solution.’

The high-quality carbon offsets support a number of worldwide energy conservation projects, such as the planting of trees to create carbon sinks and other schemes that actively reduce carbon emissions. This means that the carbon released by the burning of the fuel is effectively cancelled out.

‘Offset diesel is available for use in any on-site plant that is normally fuelled with red diesel,’ said Mark Andrews, group general manager at Crown Oil UK. ‘This may include not just generators but pumps, site vehicles, excavators, cranes and piling rigs.’
