O’Donovan Waste launch Net-Zero Pledge

O’Donovan Waste committed to net-zero carbon emissions

Waste-recycling operator aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2035

O’DONOVAN Waste Disposal, one of the leading waste-management and recycling firms in London, have pledged their commitment to help tackle climate change by setting out their ambitious aspirations to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2035.

The company already has a proven track record for placing greener initiatives and environmental performance at the forefront of its priorities and vision for the business.

O’Donovan Waste, for example, have invested heavily in sustainable buildings and state-of-the-art processing facilities and equipment, ensuring that 100% of all incoming waste is reused, recycled, and, ultimately, diverted from landfill.

For a business to have a net-zero carbon footprint, they would have to achieve net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by balancing carbon emissions with carbon removal (often through carbon offsetting) or simply by eliminating carbon emissions altogether.

O'Donovan are now going a step further and pledging their commitment to be carbon neutral by the middle of the next decade; with a launch and manifesto set to be released in the next few months detailing the company’s roadmap for change.

Jacqueline O’Donovan, managing director of O’Donovan Waste, commented: ‘Climate change is a major problem that is being highlighted daily by scientists from all around the world. It is vital that everyone must take on their share of the responsibility, particularly business leaders, to tackle the real challenges that we face.

‘We need to focus on achievable goals that are practical and that work, taking innovative, hard-hitting action to become more resourceful and rise to the climate challenge, making a lasting difference.’
