Nordberg become Metso Minerals

Nordberg (UK) have changed their name to Metso Minerals (UK) Ltd to reflect the new global identity of parent company Nordberg Group, which became Metso Minerals on 2 April 2001.

Metso Minerals are a major operating division of the Finnish-based Metso Corporation, global suppliers of process industry machinery and systems. The Corporation is currently actively promoting a long-term strategic decision to invest in the rock and minerals processing business.

As part of this strategy, Metso have made an offer to acquire all of the shares of Svedala Industri AB, a move which will make Metso Minerals the leading suppliers of complete crushing and screening systems, equipment, wear parts and services.

The current Nordberg product range will continue to carry the Nordberg name under the Metso Minerals banner. The company will also retain all current distribution agreements with Sandvik Mining & Construction, which includes Rammer hydraulic hammers; Tamrock, Driltech Mission and BPI drill rigs; Broyt excavators; and the full range of Sandvik drill bits, steels and down-the-hole hammers.

Metso Corporation employ some 22,000 staff worldwide and last year achieved net sales of Euro 3.9 billion (£2.4 billion).
