New Trackstack loader from Tesab

Tesab Trackstack VL1000

The new Trackstack VL1000 has been specially developed to carry out multiple functions on material transfer applications, including feeding, conveying and stockpiling for storage. The tracked unit incorporates a large horizontal feed-in hopper that is capable of receiving material from a tipping truck, wheel loader or excavator.

The design of the VL1000 ensures minimum transfer time rate and allows the material to be transported up an incline belt with the same width. This ensures large volumes of up to 1,000 tonnes/h can be handled.

The Trackstack unit is powered by a Caterpillar 4.4 engine, while the feed belt is driven by a dual chain drive for maximum torque to handle the material being dumped on the belt. The product is then conveyed to a 15m long, 1,200mm wide chevron discharge belt. The discharge conveyor has a hydraulic lower/raise and slew function, which allows for stockpiling duties with a maximum discharge height of 7.5m.

The design concept of the VL1000 is based on maximum versatility and manoeuvrability on site, thanks to a tracked tilting body frame which can be repositioned as required. The compact and manoeuvrable design was recently utilized at an installation in Panama, where a number of VL1000 units were supplied to unload 0-100mm crushed aggregate from barges along the Panama Canal. The Trackstack was chosen for its proven performance and complete design package.

In the application, the VL1000s were either tracked or craned on to the barges. Some of the loaders were equipped with a special cradle to lift the units into position. Once placed, excavators and wheel loaders feed the large hopper where material is discharged on to a fixed land-based conveyor system for further processing.

The VL1000 units are then tracked off to be put into general stockpiling use while awaiting the next barge for unloading.
