New tilt sensor

Leica Geosystems have introduced a dual-axis tilt-sensor capability for the Dozer 2000 machine-guidance system.

"Dozer 2000 uses signals from GPS satellites, augmented with local area error corrections, to measure the vehicle’s position and movement with centimetre-level accuracy. A ruggedized touch-screen computer in the cab provides the operator with visual guidance, showing the vehicle’s motions relative to the desired design grade."

The tilt sensor corrects machine position and height for pitch and roll measurements. It is mounted in the machine cab and connects to the Dozer 2000 GPS sensor via a signal cable which powers the tilt sensor and also transfers the machine pitch and roll data to the Dozer 2000 software.
